Position Summary
The Electrical Warehouse Lead plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient flow of materials in and out of the warehouse while maintaining accurate inventory records. This position requires hands-on work in shipping, receiving, inventory management, and equipment coordination. The ideal candidate is highly organized, adaptable, and capable of handling multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Job Functions

- Verify and maintain records of all incoming and outgoing shipments specific to the electrical division.
- Prepare items for safe shipment and ensure proper packaging.
- Unpack, inspect, and route incoming shipments; reject damaged items, document shortages, and communicate with shippers to resolve discrepancies.
- Receive and process defective parts returned for replacement or credit.
- Maintain an adequate inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
- Coordinate with suppliers for ordering electrical materials, tools, rentals, and other necessary equipment.
- Perform all necessary computer functions for tracking inventory, shipments, and orders.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area, following prescribed safety regulations.
- Operate forklifts, hand trucks, and other warehouse equipment to move materials to proper locations.
- Review inventory levels and place orders as needed.
- Order and coordinate the delivery of electrical materials for job sites while ensuring accurate pricing.
- Manage the rental and coordination of specialty equipment such as scissor lifts, boom lifts, excavators, and skid steers, including arranging pickup and delivery.
- Oversee the electrical division’s vehicle fleet, including scheduling usage and coordinating maintenance.
- Maintain and oversee the tool crib for the electrical division, including tool check-outs, repairs, and ordering replacements as needed.
- Work with fabrication shops to schedule and coordinate deliveries of fabricated electrical materials to job sites.
- Coordinate with field foremen in the electrical division to facilitate tool and material deliveries, pickups from job sites, and transfers back to shops.
- Ensure sidewalks and foot traffic areas around office, shops, and receiving areas remain clear of snow by salting and shoveling as needed..
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- High school diploma or GED certificate.
- Prior experience in shipping, receiving, and inventory management preferred.
- Electrical knowledge or experience in handling electrical materials and equipment is highly beneficial.
- Forklift driving experience preferred.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair tools as needed.
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record (insurable).
- Basic computer proficiency for inventory tracking and order management.
- Ability to read, write, and follow verbal instructions in English; basic math skills required.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, adapt to changing priorities, and manage interruptions effectively.
- Physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. unassisted.

Must be able to: Stand and walk for long periods of time during a regular work day; use arms and hands to reach for, handle and manipulate objects; lift and carry materials up to 50 pounds unassisted; climb up and down ladders; carry tools and equipment; work while in stooped, kneeling, crouched, and crawling positions; be able to see naturally or with correction, to safely perform designated tasks.
Environmental conditions may include areas where toxic or caustics chemicals or fumes are in use or being stored; HMI provides safety and respiratory gear for these circumstances. Noise intensity level can be high, where HMI provides hearing protection; Close proximity to moving mechanical parts when in or near shops; May be required to operate or work around powder-actuated hand tools. Employee will need to exhibit quick visual and physical responses as necessary. Vision abilities required by this job include close, far, and field of vision and will involve visual scanning between computer screen and data/documentation.
